Special Education in NJ

This is in Cherry Hill, NJ. The debate is, should the special education teacher who was not present in the classroom on the day this occurred, be penalized?

Make me sick this is even happening in this world. To bully a child that is not only special but cannot defend himself just shows what kind of a ignorant coward a person really is. I'm glad you posted this Wells people should really see this.

And also my question is did the teacher know this was occurring on a regular basis. If so, the teacher should be penalized.

No one from the school was allowed to make any statements regarding this incident. The only thing I was told by a special education teacher in the district is that Jodi, the aide that you heard most of the time, was fired instantly and the other 2 aides and special education teacher were moved to other classrooms. Since then, the other two aides were fired, but the special education teacher continues on. So it appears we don't know how much the special education teacher knew or did not know, which is unfortunate considering she's in charge of the classroom.

same as you captian, i got to like 7 minute area, and justt shut it off, what the hell is wrong with people these days to think that that is okay?! these ladies are vile scumbags who dont deserve what they have, in my opinion they deserve the deepest darkest places in hell, these are helpless kids, cant cry out but they feel the same as we do. they are justsfhuhdsafddfa....im pissed im gonna get off and rage

To me, it sounded like this incident wasn't just a one time thing, so the teacher's lawyer's defense of "My client wasn't in the classroom for the instance" does not sound too convincing. I don't have all the facts and I'm not too familiar with the protocols of tenure and what not relating to the teachers' rights, but this is one of those things were I feel like you have to fix things, not to hide in silence. While I can only assume that working with special needs children can be taxing, there should always be a level of professionalism and respect that should be present in a work place, and even more important in a classroom environment.

That just boils my blood . I can't believe that someone in that position could do such a thing. On top of that how can a school let that happen and after there is video evidence still not fire her. I wouldnt give a fuck about her union they could all go keel over with shit like that it is unacceptable for that to be happening...
