Resolved - Server messing my internet up

Question

Posted (edited)

Name: Ducky MoMo

Rank: BAR

Type of issue: (Software, Hardware, Steam, Not sure)

Brief Description of Issue:

So i have two problems, one minor and just a question. The minor question is, what can i change in my cfg to make it show the bullet holes in people? And the second, it started yesterday and has gotten progressivly worse. I play dods, and if i play on our server, my internet stops working and disconnects. I can play on other servers so far, without this error. What could i do to fix this? I am doing a virus scan now, also, to see if that may be the problem.

What other programs do you have running in the background?

Windows Live has been known to lag my network connection quite considerably, and I have heard of similar problems with people using Skype, though nothing outside of those two.

Is your computer downloading updates for your OS or AV software?

Who else (if any) are on your connection?

If possible, try to limit your outbound connection to steam, and DOD:S, and see if it improves at all.

as for your .cfg file problem can you look through your config and your autoexec (if you have one) and find r_drawmodeldecals and tell me whether it is set to 0 or 1.

Is this still a problem?

Please reply confirming whether or not the issue has been resolved, so that we may attempt to assist you further.

No, not too much, i still have random 20 second lags that sometimes mess up my internet for a minute or so, but that is all. Thank you for the assistance
