Brief Description of Issue: Aight so just about an hour ago my computer was running fine so I figured hell lets play some Dods. I get into the server im at 500 -700 ping. now usually im at 25-30 so surprised I run my antivirus and nothing comes up. so I said screw it played a different game absolutly nothing wrong my internet is fine like legit everything is good except my connection to dods. Any ideas?

It's most likely a software issue

Dunno if this will help with the end result but I turned my mouse off opened the game and I had no lag and I reactivated the mouse with nothing wrong so far.

You may have been experiencing a spike in internet activity for your area, a very short connection problem, or even the server lagging a bit.

Nevertheless, I doubt that it is a problem on your end, but rather a problem with your connection (ISP side), or our servers. We have been having some minor lag issues with our server this past week.

And now I dont know whats wrong but Im stuck anywhere from 100 to 900 ping. still nothing on the virusscan I havnt changed anything since earlier.

Be sure that nobody else on your network is using your connection extensively (downloading).

What kind of connection are you running? (wired, wireless)

What kind of service do you use? (DSL, dish, etc.)

Is your computer operating system or anti-virus attempting to update itself?

Be sure your connections has some kind of protection. Nothing is more annoying then a neighbor piggy-backing on nearby unprotected networks.

On a related note, how about that weather? If you aren't on a wired service, weather conditions can and will affect your connectivity.

If everything is optimal, get into contact with your ISP to inquire further. They could be performing maintenance, or having minor technical difficulties. Can't know if something is going on, unless you check.

Resolved. It's my brother hogging too much internet for his game so my game starts lagging. We did the test. He turns it on boom I go from 30-500.

Damn, that sucks.

At least we know what the problem is now.
