I recommend permanent. It was blatant.

Just for the sake of putting it out there; I witnessed the situation, and the intention of the person in question was certainly to cause a problem.

It would already be done, but unfortunately in a stroke of brilliance, I announced in the pub that the guy needed a permanent ban right after the incident, which likely contributed to his fleeing our server.

It could not have been a more obvious situation.
