Question

Name: Ray Grenoble

Rank: Sergeant

Type of issue: lerp/registry/config

Brief Description of Issue: Im having extremely bad reg with autos in the pub lately and its developing into a bit of a pattern where the first 2 shots reg then 6 blanks/misses then ill have 2 more reg and then more blanks/misses, the issue dose not extend to the rifles and single shot weapons. The only time i bother counting my shots and paying close attention to my reg is when im in close quarters with a support or assault (mostly support as i hate the assault and the assaults lack of accuracy dosnt help :) ) but my reg is absolutely perfect in the pub. I'm currently using Dillon's config and im not really too sure what kind of changes i should make to it to try and tweak my reg for the pub.

Just to head off this train of thought b4 anyone can post anything i am not in any way saying my aim is perfect....... im taking a lot of misses into account and that is the reason i said i only count shots and all that in close quarters where i know if my crosshair is on target i should be getting hits

What kind of mouse are you using? If it happens to be a razor mouse, look here.

If it is not a razor, I suggest you look into any potential updates related to your mouse drivers anyways.

Sounds to me like it is related to the recoil of a weapon and the relation between that and your mouse position.

If you have changed any settings regarding your mouse, try resetting it back to default.

As far as I am aware, any configs will not have any affect on the hit registry. The only time it would assist is if it was bad registry related to poor FPS (helping by increasing your FPS by altering settings)

Im useing a Logitech M505 laser with no custom settings and as far as i can tell their are no driver updates. I searched Logitech's site and only found software to customize the mouses performance which iv never felt i needed to do. as far as the bit about the configs im speaking in terms of setting my LERP so that the hitboxes and the character models are occupying the same space instead of them being slightly offset. My issue being that when im running base settings and change my lerp i cant get it below 20 without packet loss but Dillon's config has managed to get it to .7 and according to the in-game net_graph im not experiencing any packet loss (LERP is white). The only reason im bothering to make a post about it is the fact that i get a noticeable difference in hit registry when we do stuff on the private like realisms and platoon practices over my hit registry on the pub server.

I believe Dillon's config changes the lerp value to be lower in the private than what it sets it when in the pub. (0.7 in the pub, 0.5 in the private)

Ensure that the lerp value in the private is not experiencing packet loss. Try making the lerp the same in both the pub and private.

Dillons config changes a good number of things i believe starting with lerp values and it goes all the way to my shots not showing up on bodies and walls as bullet holes and red blotches, changing some settings so that my max fps is 120 instead of being at like 450 or whatever unnecessary number it happens to reach and some graphics changes but not going so far as to change anything graphically that i could not change in settings. im thinking now im just gonna start making change after change and testing it against base game/lerp settings. Eventually i should figure out what im doing with these configs
