I'm really good. Why do I need to go through Basic Training?

Being in the 1st MRB is not all about skill, we focus on teamwork and strategy and not on an individual’s skill, like the saying goes “there’s no I in team”. Basic Training also teaches you how to act as a 1st Marine Raider which is important if you want to be apart of this Unit. All new members have to start off as a Recruit and go through Basic Training, there are no exceptions. Going through Basic Training earns you respect from your fellow Marines!
