Resolved - First Time Setup Won't Load

I have put in a ticket to Steam Support and to reddit.com/r/gaming.... nothing. Probably should've come here first, but here's my problem:

I recently downloaded Chivalry. When I went to play it for the first time (just like any game you download from Steam) it asks to make changes to your computer and then runs its first time setup. Well, in my case, it asks to make changes, I allow it, and then as soon as it goes into First Time Setup it quits it. Immediately. And then there's nothing there. So I try it again. Same thing. I don't know what to do.

Try disabling UAC.

If the game install with UAC turned off you can turn it back on afterwards if you like the warnings.

Also make sure you have done a full restart of steam. Sometimes new games won't load unless you restart steam after downloading.

Lafy, Steam/ Chivalry still won't run the First Time Setup.

Rather, that didn't work either. It immediately quits when step 1 of the First Time Setup pops up.

There's a suggestion that installing the .NET framework v4 may solve the issue.

If that doesn't fix it try verifying the game cache files.

In your steam library right click on the game and choose properties.

Click Local Files, then Verify Integrity of Game Cache.
