Closed - Weapon switching for no reason.

Brief Description of Issue: It doesnt happen all the time but for some reason, sometimes when i'm shooting at a person my gun will auto switch right as I shoot. It is more annoying with automatic weapons and allied rifle because that 1st shot will switch my weapon and give the person i am shooting at time to turn around and kill me. As soon as the first bullet hits its target my gun switchs to my pistol while my enemy is blowing my head off. Very annoying when i know i have to spray to kill someone and my weapon switchs mid spray.

Have you changed any of your binds lately also are you using a different mouse?

no nothing new on my side, this didn't start happening until about a week ago.

Go into your steamapps/username/day of defeat source/dod/cfg folder, and find the "config.cfg" file.

Either upload a copy of the file and PM me the link, or open the file with any text editor and copy-paste the contents into a PM to me. Whichever is easier for you.

*NOTE* I have asked you to send this through a PM, as the config.cfg file may contain unprotected passwords for any servers you have visited (including our private server password). As this is a public section of the forum, we do not want that posted.

How old is your mouse? I have had this issue in the past, with an older mouse. My quick switch was on the failing mouse, and it would sometimes switch weapons when I fired or scoped/shouldered a weapon.

If you have another mouse you can use, plug it into your computer and test it (take it from another computer if you need to, you will only need it for a minute). If it works, we will have our answer.

i'll try both but this mouse is only about 2 years old. Razor Abyssus mirror SE is what what my mouse is called.

Your config is all in order, there is nothing bound to change weapons other than the mouse wheel and the numbers on the keyboard.

The problem is likely the mouse. As I said, best way to test that is to grab another one, plug it in, and try it.
