Resolved - Steam with a Trojan Horse?

Question

Posted

Name: J. Griswold

Rank: Sergeant Major

Type of issue: Steam

Brief Description of Issue: Since my hard drive crapped out i hadn't played APB Reloaded in a while, started the re-install yesterday and supposedly one of the file needed by the name of VivoxVoiceService.exe is a suspected Trojan Horse via my anti-virus. I'm confused as to how to deal with the situation. I can't play the game cause my anti-virus won't let me download the file and i can't play the game because of it. I didn't think steam would allow something on their download servers if it was a virus.

The least intrusive antivirus really is Microsoft Security Essentials.

Agreed, we suggest that as a free option to just about everyone that comes to my work at the Help Desk.

Another good scanner that I would suggest is ComboFix, it's a download and run not a real-time protection program though.
