Resolved - Ventrilo Not Working in Game

Question

Posted (edited)

Name: Kyle Kabasares

Rank: SgtMaj.

Type of issue: Software

Brief Description of Issue: Just recently I've been having trouble using ventrilo while in game. Ventrilo acts fine when I don't have a game running, but when I'm in game, I press my hotkey, I hear my key click, but the people in my channel say that I lag and cannot hear what I'm saying clearly. On my end, I hear the key click, but when I let go, the key click that tells me when I'm not pressing any longer is held for an additional second or two. I've tried running vent in admin mode, to no avail, as well as trying different compatibility settings with Windows Vista, and Windows 7. I play on this exact laptop.

My usual go to is to say that you need to run it in admin mode.

This is a dumb question, but is your mic plugged in, and if so, is vent muted by chance?

I thought my vent was broke about a month ago, and it was just that I had clicked the mute mic button by accident.

I've had him try that and he can still talk in vent while in single player game or at his homescreen. It seems to be only in multiplayer games like DOD:S that his mic cuts in and out or doesn't transmit sound while talking in vent.
