Resolved - Cannot connect to games on the private server

Question

Posted (edited)

Name: Samuels

Rank: Cpl.

Type of issue: Software

Brief Description of Issue:

So I have been using my Mac Laptop for gaming in the past, but recently I downloaded Windows to my computer so I could run more games on it. I tried running DoD:S and to connect to the private while there was an open realism earlier today, and even yesterday during the BCT. While logging into the server it gave me the notification saying that the map that I had downloaded was not good and it would not connect. This happened 2x for me, 1 time with Camp Pendleton, and another with a random map that I dont remember.

I occasionally have trouble downloading maps when I connect to the private server. Installing them manually may resolve the issue.

Here's the MRB map pack.

The "Normal maps" should suffice but feel free to download them all.

Download each of the rar files and simply extract them to your dod folder. Default folder is "C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Day of Defeat/dod". If you are running a 64-bit version of windows it will be in either "Program Files (x86)" or "Program Files".

If you run into any trouble feel free to talk to me on steam or send me a PM on forums.

I installed them using the link that Holland provided and it still does not work for me. Was just in a realism where the map changed from donner to troddle and I got kicked because I had a "bad map"

Make sure you have your DOD:S set to allow downloads from servers.

Go to Options, then Multiplayer. Bottom right corner says "When a game server tries to download...", and under it, a menu to pick options. Make sure the option "Allow all custom files" is selected.

edit: this might not be the case, but just in case.

Topic is resolved.

The maps which were not working were stored in the dod/maps/map folder. They need to be stored in the main maps folder.

Note for research, default DOD:S maps only worked when in the main maps folder, however custom maps still would not work. Custom maps were required to be in a dod/maps/maps folder to work properly. I will update this topic when I find something on this.
