Lucky! I had to do a rocket lap! And by rocket lap, I mean they gave me a 10 second head start and fired a rocket at me and I had to get to the end before I was hit.

Fun days! Reminds me of some of the antics the Super Troopers used to do.

Cpl. Cannon, accepted the challenge of the Rocket Laps and died 8 times.

I have extended him a 1 week offer of repeating them to redeem himself by successfully completing a lap. We will have it next week when I am back from LOA.

FREEDOM!!!!!!

To recap, it was a nice early morning sunrise over the parade ground as Cpl. Cannon was attempting his lap.

Pvt. Baier and myself we waiting with baited breath for the perfect moment to caress the fine smooth triggers to send our rockets of encouragement towards Cannon as he peacefully hopped along the path.

As our rockets touched down along side his fleet feet and the resulting explosions highlighted the very air around him, the concussion waves lifting his broken body like the hands of a thousand angels before the demons of hell grabbed him and bashed him back against the ground.

Alas, Poor Cpl. Cannon we knew him well! May his squad have mercy on his soul till he is reborn once again.

And now after that fitting tribute to a fine member of the 1st MRB! An image of his body on his final attempt for all to remember him by!

      MARINE CORPS ENLISTMENT OFFICE Camp Pendleton, CA   RECRUITMENT LETTER     Hello F. Flobbs   Thank you for taking interest in joining the 1st Marine Raider Battalion. There are a few things you should know before I give you a date for Basic Combat Training (BCT). Firstly, you are restricted to the weapon class of Rifleman for the duration of your time as a Recruit. Secondly, any questions you have about our unit, alternate times for your BCT, or just rules in general, you should contact your drill instructors GySgt. R. Fielding, 1stSgt. J. Candy, CWO. A. Pitteway, and 2ndLt. R. Martinez.    BCT will be Held on a day communicated to you by a member of the Drill Instructor team.   Do not hesitate to reach out to our Drill Instructors for additional information.
