Resolved - Game trouble after getting Steam Online

Brief Description of Issue: Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'dod'. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting.

This is the error I receive when I click "Play" on my Steam for DoD:S

Were you doing anything in your dods folder before this happened? If it's just the gameinfo.txt file, that's a standard file so it's fixable. But there's no reason the file would just wander off.

Here's a copy of my gameinfo.txt, it goes in

Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod

Start by checking if your gameinfo.txt is actually missing. If it is then download mine and stick it in there.

If it's already there, then steam is looking in the wrong place. You can try to fix that by exiting stream, deleting your ClientRegistry.blob and relaunching steam. If neither of those things fixes it report back and we'll have more suggestions for you.

Roger,

I seem to be encountering problem after problem. Now that my game is working, my Steam stays in "Offline" mode.

Even for a split second when it goes online, I try to enter our server, but servers aren't showing up in the query for me to click on. Or, if I get even lucky enough to find a server to try and go in, it says the server is not responding. FML! :angry:
