Type of issue: internetz

Brief Description of Issue:

I can't connect to the server. It keeps giving me an error that says, "Connection failed after 4 attempts."

Here's a tracert to the server:

Trace complete.

**Edit** I just tried to connect again, and it let me in this time.

I do get the connection error occasionally where the game says it'll auto disconnect in 30 seconds if it doesn't get fixed. Usually it doesn't kick me, but it did just before I couldn't connect. It has been happening more frequently since we had that huge storm in the mid west last week.

Ultra,

I am not familiar with the technical/software end of your problem (ie: reading the Tracert) maybe we can get one of our software techs to help with that. I am familiar with the hardware/general issues and I will try to help you if I can. You mentioned a lot of storms in your area, has the internet service that you use been affected? Have they had any major outages or sent you an email about any problems they might have? Another possibility is damage to the hardware on your computer. I am sure you are aware that just a small lightning surge on your line could cause a wealth of problems to your Router/cable modem and your onboard/standalone NIC card. If you are using wireless that narrows it down a bit. It might even be a cable that might be faulty or a break in a line near you. There are several hardware possibilities, its best to eliminate as many as you can. Hope I helped you to narrow down a few things. One of our software experts might be able to help more in other areas.

Well, an hour later I got disconnected again, and my computer couldn't detect my ethernet card at all. I went and bought a new one today, which is a lot harder than it should be. I tried Walmart, and then Office Depot, no. They also told me that Best Buy doesn't even carry them anymore. So I went to a local computer store that I was avoiding because it was a bit across town. Anyways, I installed it and I'm back on ze internetz. So, I'm guessing that card went bad.
