Resolved :: Stupid Steam

Brief Description of Issue:

I am having a problem opening steam games. I can open games that I have already played no problem - DOD:S, CS:S, Mirrors Edge, etc...

When I try to open games that I have installed but not played yet (Amnesia, Worms Armageddon, and any others) they wont open.

What happens is the game starts and then it minimizes and goes to the task bar... Steam says I am in-game and the game is running in my task manager/processes but every time I click the icon, the screen turns black like it is going to load and then goes back to the desktop.

I have tried reinstalling the games, restarting steam, restarting my computer, and running as admin directly from the folders instead of steam. Nothing has worked.

I have windows 7.

I really want to play my new games!!!

Try powering up Steam as administrator. Then, you can continue playing as a normal user if this works

Definately a software issue of some kind, I will find what I can.

Excellent, issue is resolved. If problems appear again at a later date then post another ticket. Thanks to everyone who pitched in to help out. I will move this to the resolved section immediately.
