Resolved - Installing new skin on DODs-Issues

Question

Posted (edited)

Name: C. White

Rank: Sgt.

Type of issue: Software

Brief Description of Issue: I am in the Ordnance office and I am trying to review a player skin model but it does not seem to be working properly. I am pretty new to doing custom things with DoDs so here is the way I installed it.

common/DoDs/dod/custom/madeupnamefolder/...The custom skin's folder has just a materials and models folder so I just dropped them into my empty custom folder.

Here is a link to the custom skin I'm trying to review-http://dods.gamebanana.com/skins/130248

Issue I am having- I cant see sniper players on axis side(when I am axis), I can only see the different uniform my player and not on other axis players.

Please try placing your files under the following folder. You will have to make a folder with the name of your Steam account under the custom folder. These files worked for me.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\custom\[your Steam ID here]\

1. White is a member of the Ordnance office and he is trying to test a skin to make it Raider Approved. This is ok, it is what we do.

2. Are you sure that you were able to get the skins to work and not just the sleeves like White said?

3. If you were able to get the skins to work I request a detailed explanation as to how you did it.

Sorry about that White. I did not realize that you were testing it for it to be approved. My apologies.

Well I was able to get it working one time and then when I restarted DoD it stopped working. Please see screenshot here showing that the sniper is visible when it was actually working for me http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...s/?id=222551958

I pasted the folders models and materials under C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod\custom\[what ever folder name you want]\

Concerning the folder name, I was wrong before about it having to be your Steam ID. It can be anything, but I would suggest naming it for the skin pack that you have so that you can easily remove it if you want to later.

This seems to be a larger issue with SteamPipe because others are having this same problem with packs that have skins for multiple models (reference: http://steamcommunity.com/app/300/discussi...76114975590988/). When I use a single skin pack (same skin for all the Axis for example) I have no issues.

Anyone else get the multi-skin packs working?
