Resolved - Unable to watch demos

Brief Description of Issue: Whenever I attempt to watch a demo, the following error pops up. "Error! Setup file 'gameinfo.txt' doesn't exist in subdirectory 'hl2'. Check your -game parameter or VCONFIG setting."

I'll admit, I'm not very computer-savvy. I don't have the first clue what the problem is or how to fix it.

Demos I've downloaded. I don't have the first clue on how to record them myself. :S

Do the demos come from our server or another server?

You have to put the demos in your dod folder:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Day of Defeat Source\dod

Just to make sure.

Dragged demo from download folder into the folder you specified.

Same error message appears.

Try this;

Right click Day of Defeat in Steam, and click properties from the menu that comes up.

From there, click the button that reads "Launch Options".

Type the following into the input box of the Launch Options window; -game dod

*INCLUDE THE MINUS SIGN*

Press OK.

Try running the demo again.

Yes, issue resolved it was a simple error that a lot of people might have!

He was trying to open the demo's out of game.

For anyone that might not know there are a few ways to play demos

you can either open the game and hit Shift + F2, then hit load. from there you will select the demo you want to play.

another way is to open your developer console and type playdemo 'demo name'.

I am not sure if there are other ways but these are the few that I know of.
