Question

Posted (edited)

Name: Liam Barry

Rank: Master Sergeant

Type of issue: DoD:S

Brief Description of Issue: Game starts up no problem and I can play through half a map or so. Then my game freezes up and there is an audio loop. So I go back to my desktop to try to close the program in task manager and I notice that steam is not activated and I cannot remove the crashed game without restarting my pc. I am running Dillons Config and some custom skins but no issues with these prior to today.

So the Config is taken off and I verify game cache and now I'm crashing straight to desktop after a while.

The interesting thing is when I crash to desktop Steam shuts off and closes completely.

Also try this...

Please try running Steam in Windows Compatibility Mode:

1) Right click on Steam icon

2) Select Properties and go to tab Compatibility

3) Check box Run this program in compatibility mode for windwos xp sp3

4) Apply, ok

5) Run the game w/o problems.

I made the changes and will go on DoD:S later to confirm.

Also I have been on the private recently for unit realisms and such and I have lasted whole hours and maps so its either fixed or its only the pub

As of right now I think it is resolved. I have been on for practices and a couple of pub maps and it seems fine.

The problem seemed to be when I set my fps down to 120 instead of my 300 cap out.

When I dont touch it it works fine.
