Resolved - Steam crashing during gameplay

Brief Description of Issue: So if i play a steam game i can play for about an average 10-20 minutes then it will just crash to desktop with steam being crashed. Nothing like "Steam stopped working" or anything just a crash.

There is a long discussion thread on the recent update causing crashes. Many of the posters said uninstalling Geforce Experience resolved the issue for them. Do you have Geforce Experience installed?

What do you mean? Where can i find those?

In your autoexec.cfg or config.cfg files. If you don't know about those you likely do not have multicore set. What version of Windows are you running?

Here are the settings that I know of:

r_threaded_renderables "1"

r_threaded_particles "1"

r_threaded_client_shadow_manager "1"

cl_threaded_bone_setup "1"

cl_threaded_client_leaf_system "1"

Wait.. are you talking DoD:S? Because it isnt just crashing on DoD:S it is crashing on basically every game.

I was talking about DoD on the multicore, but don't worry about for now.

What Windows version are you running?

Please try running Steam in Windows Compatibility Mode:

1) Right click on Steam icon

2) Select Properties and go to tab Compatibility

3) Check box Run this program in compatibility mode for windwos xp sp3

4) Apply, ok

5) Run the game w/o problems.
