Greetings from the 2nd Ranger Battalion,

In case you haven't heard, Insurgency: Modern Infantry Combat has been released on Steam. It's a Modern War Game. It focuses on the U.S. Marines and the Iraq Insurgents and their sporadic conflicts in the war torn Iraq.. It has many guns, Like the AK-47, AK-74u and the M4A1 and also with the grenade launcher M203.

For those of you who haven't tried it yet, Insurgency consists of:

* Realistic Infantry Combat

* Realistic Iraq maps

* Squad-based Combat

* Amazing Graphics

There's so much more.

Insurgency is built on the Source Engine. Insurgency is free, but in order to play it, you must have a Source Game installed. Day of Defeat: Source will work! if you don't have DoD:S, or CS:S, or HL2, You can buy Half Life 2: Death Match off the Steam Store for $5.

The environments in the game are very well done and the quality of it is amazing. The weapons have actual effects and you don't have to waste your entire mag to get the guy at the end of the street. And as many people love in other war games, every weapon in this game has iron sights so those who love realism in games will enjoy Insurgency very much and you can also choose your firing mode on most of the weapons.

Just as the 2nd Ranger Battalion made the transition from Day of Defeat to Insurgency in February 2010, we would like to invite your community to do the same. Of course there are significant hurdles in bringing an entire community to another game. I would like to offer our support in helping your community counter these hurdles, whether they be questions, technical issues, adjusting to the game, or anything else we can help with.

We hereby welcome your community to join us in the future of realistic gaming. Please reply with any questions and comments and I will do my best to answer them as quickly as I can and with as much help as me or any of my members can provide.

And even if your community does not wish to move, we encourage you to come and play with us. Pub with us and you'll be able to see why we love this game. It brings a whole new level of real to the realism game play we all know and love.

Download Insurgency today! Straight off steam, or From the Insurgency website!

Hello 2nd Lieutenant Stear, thank you for posting on our forums about an very intriguing topic. As of right now I believe that our unit is going to continue to be a solely based DODS unit for the time being. I will inform our 2nd Lieutenant Ford on this matter if he does not see this before I get to him, but I am sure that either I or he will get back to you in an orderly fashion. Again thank you for showing interest in continuing to develop a relationship between on our units.

Sincerely,

1st Sergeant C. Englebretson

1st Marine Raider Battalion
