Resolved - Outbound Mic Volume

Brief Description of Issue: I am having a problem with my outbound mic sounds. When I open (or close) certain games (like DOD:S and Insurgency for example) it will turn my mic outbound all the way up automatically. Somehow this translates to also turning up my vent outbound. If I turn my in-game outbound voice down - my vent outbound goes down. Is there a setting that I can separate this?? I have been having to check every time I open a game and having to re-open to fix every time I leave!

Have you tried to re-install your mic software? And what brand of mic/headset do you have?

There's a setting for that in recording options or whatever. Right click on your volume go to recording options and its in there some where. Unfortunately I am not at home to give you an accurate path., but hopefully some one is

Skype will want to change the mic volume automatically by default if you do not change it. Also check your mic settings as suggested previously. There may be some configuration with your audio software that is automatically doing this.

I uninstalled Skype so I dont know if that would still be causing it?

I dont know what to look for in the settings... whats it called?

You could try going to your audio properties. Look for the communications tab at the top right. There are settings for what you want the computer to do when it detects an incoming call. Select the option none or do nothing.

The only thing in my communication tab is the option to disable my front jack connection.

The only options I see in my audio stuff are like noise suppression, mic boots, volume levels, and echo cancellation.

If it is something that recently changed it could have been another program that you installed. You could try reinstalling the sound drivers/software as Viktor suggested.
