Ok so I suggest you do the following:

1) When you go into ventrilo make sure that the input and output device in the setup tab is set to whatever your mic is called.

2) Go into your control panel and then into sound settings and make sure that in the playback and recording tabs that your microphone is set as the device with the green check.

3) Update your computers sound drivers. To do so go into your control panel, then hardware and sound, then device manager and under audio click on each one and click update driver. Then hit search automatically and let it do its thing.

4) Look at your microphone and see if there are any loose parts or wires that are showing. If there is that is a contributing factor.

Finally, if you could tell me what kind of headset you have that would help as well. Hope this helps!

Hey there Thompson, I hope you are doing well!

First off, I agree with Sky on everything, and i'm just here to support!

One thing before you do the following, you said that your mic is gone in game? do you have "sound?"

I would also like to direct you to this LINK. it goes step by step on how to set your vent up to a good degree.

Another thing when setting vent up is putting settings to the following

If you already have Ventrilo installed, it is highly recommended that you enable volume normalization by following the steps below. This will compensate for users with quiet or loud microphones and force them to a normalized volume level.

- Go to Setup

- Enable Direct Sound

- Select the SFX Button

- Select Compressor and click Add.

- Under Compressor Properties use the following settings

- Gain = Adjust for how loud you want people to be. (I use 15)

- Attack = 0.01

- Release = Around 500

- Threshold = Around -30

- Ratio = 100

- Pre delay = 4.0

This will normalize all sound in vent for you
