Heroes of the Storm

White 1st MRB

Does anyone else love anything Blizzard puts out? Well for me this is another hit!

Its a 5v5 MOBA, with heroes taken from all the Blizzard franchises.

It is currently in beta, but free codes are everywhere. If I get my hands on any I will be sure to spread them this way. If you really want in, keep an eye on Reddit's Heroes of the Storm page page where I see free ones constantly.

Does anyone else play?

Same I enjoy playing it .. however I feel that it snowballs easier than either League or DOTA. But it's still in beta

How does it snowball easier then League or Dota? League and Dota have gold, levels and items that give your champion small boosts over time which leads into differential power for each player on the team. HotS only has team levels to do so, it actually has almost zero snowballing and it's more of a team oriented game that requires your team to complete each map's objective to help win the game.

Well, once you lose the advantage it's hard to come back. I know some people claim otherwise, but in my experience so far if you lose an objective, obviously, you suffer the consequences .. and often time enough in the middle of that suffering, they'll get the mercenary camps, plunging your team further into chaos usually resulting in you losing the next objective when it comes up ..

That isn't the result of snowballing, that's the result of your team not working together and completing the objective hence why it's more of a team oriented game.

I'm enjoying this game so far. I'd have to say the snowballing factor is way more balanced in HotS than any other MOBA I've played to date. In League or DotA, if the game starts with one team getting 5 kills, you probably know who's going to win. In HotS, if that team can't secure an objective they get the momentum reversed very easily. I've been in situations where I get rolled, and I've rolled other people in it, but I would argue it's not even a snowball factor. Once a team starts losing, they start playing even worse, usually charging into losing situations off of fresh respawns. The best games I've played people have won or lost objectives and recovered based on that win or lose situation. It's a different and very interesting dynamic.

If anybody wants in, I do have extra keys.

I love how interactive the maps are and yes HotS to me requires lots of team work in regards to the map objectives because if you just ignore those and focus on killing others then your practically screwed. Even though items aren't included the game requires you to make fast decisions. People get pissed off at me on the plant map where i attempt to destroy every building there is instead of going for the core straight on. Makes more sense to me to keep up the pressure cause even if you get that core to 5% there is still a chance the other team could come back and take it all.

Ya I'm not a fan of the Garden of Terror map, my favorite maps are Sky Temple, Blackheart's Bay, Haunted Mines, and Dragon Shire. They all have really fun objectives.
