I'll soon enough be switching to 64bit Win7 and I'm going to need the 8GB of RAM from my current 3. Just wondering how I find out which kind I can use was planning on Corsair and I know I need DDR3 (I think) just wondering if there is a program or way to find out which kind.

Im not quite understanding what you are asking? If your asking for recommendations on ram then I can do that for sure. Are you saying you already have ram?

i would buy ram like the brand you already have and you could take a look at what you got with this program.

but why 8 gigs?

ur computer uses triple channel and you want to fill each set so 6 or 12 gigs would make more snese to me

You only need 2 gb of ram to run 64 bit. your fine. but if you do want to upgrade 6 should do.

I was trying to figure out which type of RAM I need i.e. DDR3 DDR2 etc. the number of pins.

240 Pin DDR3, it's triple-channel, so get a 3x2GB kit at least, to take full advantage of the triple-channel capabilities of the RAM.
