I'm about to start my next project for the pub, but I wanted to do some research before I start.

First, would you guys enjoy playing on a CTF map? This is my idea how to make it work:

wccpit.jpg

Its more like "Capture the bomb" actually..

But I will place flags on each bomb dispenser that trigger an alarm and displays a message like "Axis captured the flag"

The only two things that differs from the classic CTF game mode are these:

You can't see who is carrying a "flag", and you don't return it to your own flag to win, but instead you plant on the middle and defend.

My second question is more of a request, I would like the list of map requirements from the Ordnance Office.

I know most of them, but I need some clarification from someone in charge before I start working.

This is because I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna get a mini map working this time neither.

But if I make a map that is easy to find your way around and maybe put some signs in there, could this be overlooked?

I'm pretty sure it will be a mirrored map anyways, to not confuse those with a poor sense of direction.

That's it, any response from people in charge will be greatly appreciated.

Because it sort of feels like I'm presenting my maps for a jury that is sitting behind a screen or is simply not there.

This is mainly because I have no access to the Ordnance Office.

Thank you. /Lennings

That sounds like a ton of fun! Would love to see this on a friday night fights or Bears at the BAR scenario!

Yeah! Maybe we have the same vision on how the map will look then, I sort of see it being quite like the old Quake/Unreal maps.

A big main room, with different levels and many "balconies" inside. Something like a cluster of building frames and platforms.

I don't want to reveal too much, but there will be tons of triggers, buttons, hurt zones, breakables, easter eggs and more, this will be a very fun map to play on.

And of course I will dedicate it to the unit, with the logo and the web address plus some enlistment information. (If it's OK with you guys)

I plan on making a closed off room with the spectate camera focused on a texture displaying all of this, so it does not interfere with the "realism" of the map.

Although the whole idea is to make something fun and playful, and not a ultra realistic map.

Also I have to ask, is there a subtle message in your response that this game mode would not work well on the pub? :)

Because having my maps put on the public server is my only motivation for mapping at this moment.

Thanks!
