Name: O. Melnyk

Rank: Cpl

Type of issue: (Software, Hardware, Steam, Not sure) Not Very Sure

Brief Description of Issue:

As of downloading the new software for mac, OS X Yosemite, i have been receiving lighting issues with DOD:S. I don't know about other games, but when i play, the initial menu screen is significantly darker, abnormally dark, and putting brightness up all the way doesnt help, and when playing, there are many lighting glitches and shaders going wack. Specifically when i look down, and or playing on dark maps/ dark cornered areas. There are a lot of lighting relating glitches. Thank you for your time.

Here are some examples of some normal images and ones where i crouch looking down. The last winter map, forgot the name, has moments where the screen flashes.

So is there anything that can be done about this issue? I turned up my gamma all the way so its brighter, but some maps and areas flash white repeatedly and that is very annoying/uncomfortable. keep in mind i am currently running a mac computer, so i don't know if that can be helped with. Thanks.

Have you got the latest video card drivers installed? If you already have, rollback to a previous driver and give that a go.

If you're really desperate to get this issue fixed, switch back to the previous software for your Mac and see if that resolves it.

Free feel to contact any of the technicians if you need any help.

So i have done research and have found out that the new OS X Yosemite has many graphical issues. Valve games specifically have trouble with the new OS, and my graphics card is not very efficient and compatible with the OS, so realistically the one option is to wipe my mac and never to the previous OS. Don't know how risky this is and if i will lose any information, will continue playing with the graphical issues but if no real solution comes forth i will have to wipe and revert. If anyone has any news or can research a solution/way to revert and restore all previous files/data and partitions that would be great. Thanks for the help.

When i turn AA off, my graphical issues go away. Issue now is that due to the new OS, not only was there graphical issues but also FPS issues. In the mornings sometimes i get over 100 FPS, later in the day it goes up to 30. Is ping a factor in FPS? I am getting my wifi checked again because it has been glitching out lately and affecting my families ability to use the internet and my ping.

In my past experiences yes. If i am playion on the pub with a high pings my fps dont seem to be stable, but if i am playing on a euro server my ping will be high but my fps will be stable.
