Resolved - Issue with Google Chrome

Brief Description of Issue: Sometimes it wont open on the first attempt, but it will say its open in the task manager. It happens randomly it seems but I notice it will happen when I first turn on my computer or when I exit a game. I can get it to work after I restart my computer. The only extension I have on it is adblock, but it still happened after I removed it. I have also tried re-installing but it did not work. I ran a Malware scan and a full computer scan and it still happened. The only browsers I have on my PC are Chrome and Explorer or whatever its called now. Explorer works when this issue happens.

What version of windows do you have?

If you hover your mouse over open programs in your task bar does it show a little preview of that program? Does chrome show the previews when this problem happens? Can you right click on one of the previews and choose restore or maximize?

Alternatively, when it's happening open task manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc, or right click on the task bar and choose task manager). If there are no tabs in your task manager hit more details or advanced or something, then go to the Details or Processes tab and see if there's only one chrome.exe process, or lots of them. (there should be lots if it's actually running).

I had this same issue a while ago, and while I did find a fix, it wasn't the best idea. I didn't get the whole "click chrome and it doesn't open" issue again, but it seemed to slow it down the slightest bit.

I changed all open tabs to run in a single process. In your chrome shortcut, go to properties, go to Target, then edit it as this: add -single-process to the end of the target line, so it should say something like ....Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" -single-process.

It helped, but I ultimately removed it after a chrome update seemed to fix my issue. Chrome just loves hogging memory, so I think there is some inherent issue when trying to open it while the computer still has memory being reserved for other things (i.e. games, computer is booting, etc etc).

There are also tons of things online about this very thing you can read through and figure out what works for your particular system. I think it's more trial and error than anything else though. Bueno suerte!

tried all the suggestions from Brown and Lafy. None seemed to work so I gave up and just went with Firefox. Issue resolved I suppose.

Not an optimal solution (no fix for Chrome was found), but marking as resolved since you have found an alternative that is to your satisfaction.
