Resolved - Network issues with apps and software on PC

Question

Posted (edited)

Name:C. Bunt

Rank:Pfc.

Type of issue:Software / Hardware

Brief Description of Issue:

I have a desktop PC running on my modem/router through xfinity. the connectivity to the network is fine, running at 200+ MBS.

My issue comes with my apps or software, such as vent, or games like DoDs, and Battlefront. or whatever.. my browsing sometimes runs slowly as well. I already contacted tech support with xfinity its not an issue on their end. I feel more an issue on my end. My firewall permissions are set to allow steam games, and basically all games I have. not sure why everything is lagging. can I get some help on this? frustrates the hell out of me.

get rid of Google Chrome. Go with FireFox instead. Google is a hog for memory.

Shouldnt matter my internet is supposed to be 75mbs, which obviously i won't get that but I've never had issues before.. this just started recently. I dunno whats going on. its fine browsing, although it slows down sometimes. however trying to play on DoDs is hell I lag all over. it wont connect to origin anymore, so I can't play battlefront.. prolly just not any online game. however the connection is there, bandwidth and all.

Google Chrome uses computer memory like crazy. it is not allowing other things to work properly. if you have to many applications opening when your computer is turned on, it will have no ram for what you want. Windows 10 can run on 2 GB of ram. Chrome will not. It sucks your ram up and will make it difficult to run programs when you want. Try a new browser and see what you get. If it doesn't solve the problem, then you can go back to chrome.

12GB is plenty to run Chrome and anything else simultaneously, especially when paired with a i7-5930K
