In addition to measuring your reaction time, this test is affected by the latency of your computer and monitor. Using a fast computer, wired mouse, and low latency / high framerate monitor will improve your score somewhat.

Had to add that in. DON'T BE USING WIRELESS MICE PEOPLE!!! :D

If you guys take a look on their statistics you will find that several devices can add lag of several ms up. Wireless mouse and TV/Monitor without game mode, or some option for speed, are considerable factors. Modern TV/Monitors lag some ms to deliver better image quality. I have a samsung TV T24D310 model, and I simply cannot turn on the game mode in this thing. My mouse is a wired microsoft though.

About benchmark: when I took my driver's license, I recall in the school's manual they said the average human reaction time to press the car's break was 1/3 of a second, this amounts to 333ms. So having average fingers reaction of 300ms or less is ok. If you are getting 500ms in that test, probably something in your hardware is lagging you.

Wanna do a homemade reflexes test? Ask someone to hold a ruler and put your fingers around it without touching it. Mark the position your fingers are. The person releases the ruler and you press your fingers to hold it. The difference in centimeters (inches for  you) between initial position and grabbed position allows you to calculate how many (mili)seconds the ruler traveled.

See the second equation here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Equations_for_a_falling_body

I wonder if the second placed '3kliksphilip' is the real 3kliksphilip. It seems like the kind of thing he would be into.
