RESOLVED :: Red Internet Connection Error In Game (disconnecting in 25 seconds....)

Question

Posted (edited)

Name: Grand (in game name)

Rank: Public player

Type of issue: Ever since buying a new pc.

Brief Description of Issue:

I have uninstalled, reinstalled, verified dods, turned off firewalls (uninstalled mcafee b/c my trial was over and turned off all windows defender firewalls), played on different dod servers, played on css servers, and still after playing for about a minute, I get the red internet connection message on the top right sidehand of my screen. When I disconnect (or get disconnected automatically) I am able to reconnect immediately. Then, a minute after having reconnected, once again i get red message. My router and internet connection are in great shape, i've tested my internet on the dslreports website. I started experiencing this issue only after buying a new HP pc. Since the first day it's been like this.

Could it be that steam is not recognizing my new device or something along these lines?

I was able to fix. I thought i was totally out of luck. I recall doing this before and it not helping. I turned off the router, modem, and pc. Waited few minutes to them back on. I almost feel silly. Thanks anyway!

No worries. By the sounds of it the root of the issue was that your Router/Modem's cache may have still had cached data for the prior system, and was trying to automatically route the request from that port to the original system instead of your new one. It's usually just due to your UPnP table being full and as such not able to save new routes for the data and so the restart clears that out for you.
