Lately (as in the past few years) I've been getting more and more into ambient music.

For the longest, I was strictly Aphex Twin. I have been enjoying his music for over a decade now. But lately I've been getting more into other ambient bands...

Stars of the Lid

Mogwai

Tortoise

Eluvium

..and more.

I've also been getting into kinda ambient/rock stuff too...

I started listening to some Mew stuff the other day at your recommendation...

some of their stuff I REALLY dig! Some of it I was like 'is this the same band?' hahaha

Yeah their stuff has changed over the years quite a bit, but the later stuff really grows on you the more you listen to it. It is kind of weird and jarring at first yeah.

I downloaded their discography.

The more I listened to it, the more it became "I must have this.."

They're awesome!

I downloaded a HUGE ambient torrent that had all of the Stars of the Lid discography as well as a ton of stuff I've never heard of.

The only downside is that every album in the torrent is one giant .mp3. So now I'm going through and cutting each one into the appropriate songs - what a pain!
