Issue with Steam

Alright, well hopefully this issue doesn't last as long as my forums one which, thankfully seems to have passed.

Right now I can't play anything, I click on a game, any game and it brings up the normal launching box then goes to the update box with the up date bar on it, then proceeds maybe 5-100 seconds later to Validating Steam Games files window which lasts maybe 2 seconds and is quickly followed by the dreaded popup informing me The Steam servers are too busy to handle your request at this time.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any idea what this issue may be caused by or anything I can do or should I just wait for Steam to unfuck itsself?

Small development

Not all games are doing this, just source based games like DoD:S, CS:S, and other games using the Half Life 2 engine.

I've been able to play games like Red Orchestra and Shattered Horizon but again no Source engine games.
