Will my internet speed do?

I am moving and could only afford the bottle level Cable service from Road-runner. It is 7mb DL and 1mb Up, will that be enough for me to have a good gaming experience? Possibly lower my Lerp a bit and raise my cmd and update rate? Would appreciate any info on how to know what a game like DoD:S uses in mb.

I game on 5MB down, and .75MB up, and I never notice much issue - so I think you'll be fine (hey, it's not belgacom)

I really wouldn't worry about it - those speeds are totally acceptable IMO.

My Lerp is at 20 with no issue.

Ok thank you for the response. They of course tried to upsell me to some 80 dollar a month plan with insane turbo speed but to much money. If i can game fine on 7Mb/1Mb then ill be a happy man. Cant be any worse than the wireless i play moderatly well with =P.

Yea, the plans they try to sell these days are so ridiculously over-priced... yet people pay it. It's insane.

People pay all this money, then use about 1/3 of their DL capability - ever. If people saw how much they absolutely waste - and how much $$$ they could be saving... they would probably be shocked.

I've got the same thing Goodwin does, it works well enough. Just don't download shit while you're gaming.

I did a speednet test last night and i got 30Mb DL and 1Mb Up so i am super excited. I was only supposed to get 7Mb DL. Hope it stays that way.
