So, just to make sure I understand, its a wired connection, right?

What model of router do you have? Does it have a Version number as well?

Which operating system are you using?

You may have some bad DNS tables. I would drop into your c:\ (type cmd in the run thingy), and type ipconfig /flushdns. If this doesn't take care of it, we'll go into some deeper stuff like ensuring your configuration is good for you network interface.

I just move back home and i have a netgear wireless router, i can get internet wirelessly but he main desktop thats wired to the modem does not get internet. Ive check out setups online and followed them, but no go.

I figured it out, i was able to get a copy of the setup wizard, netgears very anal about how its all set up. Ty for the input Big D :)
