If we really look at what has been done, there's been a lot. But, the truth of the matter is that a President cannot really do much. They can propose legislation and direct the various departments of the beauracracy, but major changes require Congress to hammer it out in two different versions (House and Senate), and then its sent to the President.

What with the big gains by republicans, the real indictment is that Obama did so much... without enough focus on near 10% unemployment. I'll be very curious to see what happens with a divided Congress (Democrats will get Washington, Republicans will get Alaska, but Colorado is too close to call) where there are only 50-51 votes in the majority of the Senate and a pretty overwhelming Republican majority in the House.

With the elections over, you're not going to see much major things done by Obama. You'll see a lot of things done in the departments and his control and reorganization there.

The elections are over and we can finally have more compromises then just passing random laws

Oh they're not random man. It's all apart of the extreme liberal agenda. You know, the liberals that are so out of touch with America and are now out of a job because of it.

I used to believe that there were large-scale agendas out there..... Now I just think that there are too many powerful people who disagree on just about everything.

Its cat-herding. Now, if we had 6 or 7 major political parties, I'd believe that it could be done.

I think the problem has been that some of the things the Obama Administration has done aren't well enough understood by the general public to make truly informed decisions.

Public opinion will swing back and forth between the two parties because as long as there is partisanship and mud-slinging, the public will never get the best policies. The focus needs to be shifted to how the Republicans and Democrats can work together for the good of the nation, not for an election years down the road.

You hit it exactly right gooderham when you said the good of the nation. It's all opinionated, but when most people are against something and then Obama shoves stuff down their throats anyways because he wants his agenda done, then there are problems. Hence why there was a tsunami of republican seats surge last night. People basically said well if you side with Obama, this isn't the change we wanted and now since you side with him then you're not going to be in office anymore. The people decide the good of the nation and they spoke, Washington didn't listen, now dems are out of jobs.

I didn't mean random like that, what i ment was like if someone proposes a law that is according to the democratic agenda its going to be passed no matter what, but now i can finally be challenged to produce compromises instead of laws being passed without any detest

Initially I was just joking about what Obama has done. Fuck, I wouldn't want the job of the President. He has done some good over the past 18 months, but the biggest thing that I fear is not the President. It's the Government itself. The House and Senate debate on whether these bills should be law and passes them to the President. The President "approves" or signs bills he believes are in the best interest of the people of the United States.... agree? I'm scared of losing my rights and freedoms because of the Federal Government.

So it's a combination of who WE, the American People, elected into office. The American People do not fully understand the issues, and just vote based on what they feel, what their friends say, thier political affiliation, not the issues.

I was looking at the demographics, in Florida, of the last Presidential Election. The thing that I noticed more is, county by county, the largest votes for Obama came from College and University towns. Tallahasse, Gainesville, Orlando, Tampa-St. Pete, Miami, and Jacksonville. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I know also the bigget cities in FLorida, but college towns none the less. 4 yrs prior, they were mostly Republican. I listened to the young people in the area, i.e., 18-21, and all they talked about was Obama was going to change everything and that Bush was a dick, but nothing about the issues, and even the ones that did talk about the issues were not looking forward, but at what Bush did wrong.

In essence, Obama isn't a bad President, nothing like Hoover or Coolidge, who did basically nothing during the "Great Depression". Roosevelt was worse, 1. By being the President for 16 yrs, (lol, our first King of the US), 2. By implamenting a lot of government intrusion into our lives.

So Obama has done a fair amount in his service to our country, not the best and not the worst.

So in 2012 we vote again for another President. I wonder who we are going to have. Sarah Palin????? Maybe not so bad. Who know.......
