Computer sounds and pub server

So whenever I'm on the pub server and I have any audio running in the background, ventrillo, music, or anything else when the map changes on the pub my volume literally on all those other applications is decreased by about 50%. Doesn't matter if I'm in game or alt tabbed out. If I'm in spec and alt tabbed I can tell you exactly when the map starts to change. Not a huge deal but it's starting to get annoying. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Go to your control panel.

Go to sound (manage audio devices)

Right click the device you are using for DoDs/vent/etc.

Go to Properties.

In the Advanced tab there should be a setting called Exclusive Mode

Uncheck the box that says "Allow Applications to take exclusive control of this device."

I know this works for Win7, not sure about vista...

Also, are you running vent as administrator?

Also your going to check your DOD options

Ie. go to the Audio tab, there is a little check box in the bottom.

Click it. it will bring our sound back to normal
