So there was a pretty bad electrical storm today. When I got home my computer was off, but I usually leave it in sleep mode which means it lost power sometime during the storm. It's plugged into a surge protector as well as my modem, and my cable line runs through a surge protector on it's way to the modem.
When I restarted it, it did a disk check to make sure my HD's where in working order. During the check it deleted 5 files, but I couldn't tell you which ones it deleted.
Afer it finished it restarted my PC. It normally takes about 2 minutes from cold boot to desktop and all programs being fully loaded, this time it took about 30 minutes just to get to my desktop, and I don't really even know if it's done yet loading all my programs.
At the moment, it says my network is offline, even though I'm online typing this. My headphones say they are working, but in vent it says: Failed to open input device, it may be in use by another program. rc = -10. So I can't talk or hear anything. Anything I try and launch from my desktop takes atleast 10 - 15 minutes to load. I tried restarting twice, to no luck. Same issues as before. I tried opening my task manager to see what all was running, but apart from my normal services, there is nothing fishy. Nothing is using memory or cpu that shouldn't be and my cpu is only running at 2% and I'm using about 1.5 megs of the 8 total megs of memory I have.
I tried going to my control panel to delete the last thing I installed, thinking maybe it had something to do with this. The only thing I see under installed programs is adobe products. Nothing else.
I am at a loss as what to do other than a full re-install of windows, but I really don't want to do all that again.
Suspicion active, was sprinting around no scoping everyone prior to demo then just ran around with pistol after I started, seems to be tracing through walls.
