My Story About My Journey Onboard The Traning Ship Denmark

I have for a while been thinking about posting something from my education onboard the training ship Denmark. I'm kinda shy from time to time but I figured that I would post some personal pictures that I took on my old iPhone and write a little story, so here it is. I hope the ones that read this like it:

This is the route I was a part of before flying home from Tenerife - 4150 US miles traveled by sea in total.

It has almost been a year since I started my education onboard the training ship Denmark. I started on Pre-school on July 4th 2013 where we were introduced to everyting including safety at sea and stuff like that. We started of in Aarhus, Denmark where we departed around the 10th of July [number 1 on the map above]. It took us about a week to get to Mariehamn, Finland [number 2 on the map]. I have never been in Mariehamn before and I absolutely loved it so much but I was even more exited about going to France. After Mariehamn we had a small port stop in Copenhagen and Frederikshavn, Denmark. Next port was Rouen, France [number 3 on the map]. Rouen was amazing and I enjoyed the 3 day stay we had there. Next of was a 14 days sailing time on the open ocean on our way to Tenerife [number 4 on the map]. Those 14 days was a really mixed feeling of being seasick and the ship running out of food supplies at the end of those 14 days. I thought I was "sea strong" but apparently I was not. I went to the ships hospital and should stay there for half a day and that sucked :P. Finally we arrived to Tenerife and gosh that was a beautiful sight and really hot too. As one of the oldest students onboard at that time (was 23 at that time in 2013 and the requirements was from 16-23) it could be hard from time to time and sure we had our verbal fights at that time but that's just something that follows with the whole thing when you live along with fellow 79 students and about 13 crewmembers :)

I finally after 1-2 weeks took the decision about going home and I did so on 31st August 2013 and almost 2 months at sea [1 month ealier than the expected end time]. This was really really hard for me to say goodbye to the crewmembers I got close too and also the students I got to know well. Those 2 months was really mixed from bad to good. Don't get me wrong it was a really amazing trip that I will never forget but like said I also have bad stuff in my backpack to carry the rest of my life.

I *Salute* the ones I got close to, fellow students as well as crewmembers and I appreciate that I got that chance to be apart of all this but it was just not something for me in the end.

Here is the ship I lived on for almost 2 months:

I have had mixed situations with being a student onboard traning ship Denmark but in the end I miss being there.

I *Salute* you
