Ok folks.

I have a minor issue with my roommate, who has a tendency to not listen to well, and after repeated times telling him NOT TO DOWNLOAD, he refuses to listen. SO, I am taking matters into my own hands.

I need to find a way to do bandwidth priority on a Linksys E3000 Cisco Router. I need a good relilable download program, or perhaps maybe someone knows how to do it from the Cisco Connect software that came packaged with the router. This is an urgent manner, I am growing tired of his bullshit. I like the extra money to pay for the internet bill. If I really need to, I will bring it to MAC based filtering, but if someone knows a Bandwidth Priority program I can use, that'd be fantastic.

Any thoughts?

This is your answer. Your router is supported. You need to flash it to a new BIOS. Then set the QoS settings giving your system the highest priorty, and your room-mates lowest.

Which release do I download? and do you think perhaps you could walk me through it somehow? I know I should know this shit, but I don't wanna brick my router and be out 140 bucks.

I would always grabe the most recent stable build. Its gone through pretty extensive testing and will be up to the task. The most recent is..... V24 SP1.

Click the "Installation" button. It has everything there, including how to restore your BIOS. Use the Web GUI, it is far easier.
