  1. I read this, for the first time, just a few minutes ago. It wasn't until I read the years in the next to last paragraph that I realized it wasn't written in the present. It still rings true to this day. Where the dollar goes, the flag follows, and the soldiers follow the flag.
  2. War is just a racket. A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of people. Only a small inside group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few at the expense of the masses. I believe in adequate defense at the coastline and nothing else. If a nation comes over here to fight, then we'll fight. The trouble with America is that when the dollar only earns 6 percent over here, then it gets restless and goes overseas to get 100 percent. Then the flag follows the dollar and the soldiers follow the flag. I wouldn't go to war again as I have done to protect some lousy investment of the bankers. There are only two things we should fight for. One is the defense of our homes and the other is the Bill of Rights. War for any other reason is simply a racket. There isn't a trick in the racketeering bag that the military gang is blind to. It has its "finger men" to point out enemies, its "muscle men" to destroy enemies, its "brain men" to plan war preparations, and a "Big Boss" Super-Nationalistic-Capitalism. It may seem odd for me, a military man to adopt such a comparison. Truthfulness compels me to. I spent thirty- three years and four months in active military service as a member of this country's most agile military force, the Marine Corps. I served in all commissioned ranks from Second Lieutenant to Major-General. And during that period, I spent most of my time being a high class muscle- man for Big Business, for Wall Street and for the Bankers. In short, I was a racketeer, a gangster for capitalism. I suspected I was just part of a racket at the time. Now I am sure of it. Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service. I helped make Mexico, especially Tampico, safe for American oil interests in 1914. I helped make Haiti and Cuba a decent place for the National City Bank boys to collect revenues in. I helped in the raping of half a dozen Central American republics for the benefits of Wall Street. The record of racketeering is long. I helped purify Nicaragua for the international banking house of Brown Brothers in 1909-1912 (where have I heard that name before?). I brought light to the Dominican Republic for American sugar interests in 1916. In China I helped to see to it that Standard Oil went its way unmolested. During those years, I had, as the boys in the back room would say, a swell racket. Looking back on it, I feel that I could have given Al Capone a few hints. The best he could do was to operate his racket in three districts. I operated on three continents. ~ General Smedley Darlington Butler USMC (one of the most decorated U.S. soldiers in history) The full speech, just in case you want to read
  3. I like how the cat was chill as fuck just riding his roomba.
  4. BBC News America, Email, Our Fourms, Privateer Press Forums, Cracked, Facebook, and then random shit.
  5. It is a good question. I for one believe you are born with your sexuality. I can't remember ever not liking girls so I assume it is genetic.
  6. Didn't notice it until you brought it up. Now I can't not notice it...
  7. Now that I bought the thing, it cost more XP to get its 90mm gun than it cost to actually research it.
  8. Just bought my favorite TD in ww2, the M18 Hellcat. Now to work on other stuff.
  9. Is that the KFC is going out of buisness .gif?
  10. I hate dumbasses in WoT. I'm a TD with max camo rating, I can shoot and the enemy won't detect me. So what does a tank that can be seen across the map do? Come and sit right behind me. So the enemy shoots at him, and kills me.
  11. So I hadn't played in a few weeks which is why it took awhile to update. As for the At-2 and At-8, I used to hate them, now I find them to be a steel coffin for the player, the cupola is incredibly easy to pen. I was cussed out and called a Premium Gold Rounds noob when I killed an at-8 with my T49.
  12. Just to point out, it is crazy easy to buy a gun. I can take $500 to a friend of a friend and become the proud owner of an Ak-47 (more likely one of the cheaper "knock offs" to be honest). No questions asked. Or I can go to the monthly gun shows, buy a gun, no questions asked, no background check required. Hell even the local Wal-Mart sells rifles and shotguns, and does do a basic federal background check, which due to the way our laws are set up is not very effective. So while there are supposedly regulations, they are tissue thin, and Armstrongs view is closer to the truth. At least in my Area. Not saying you said this Zorbanos, but I really detest the "Criminals are going to have illegal guns so why hinder law abiding citizens." It makes no sense. If we follow that logic, Criminals will always break a law, so why have laws at all? What is really messed up is that while the vast majority of Americans supported the Background check bill, Congress still voted it down. Really goes to show how in touch the politicians are. However the best part is that the RNC just slammed Obama about not passing the bill. When 41 Republicans in the Senate voted against it. Insanity if you ask me.

Just found this show on Netflix, it was recommended because I watched Continuum. Its about the police in 1864, pretty good so far.
  14. With that said, I do not agree with them using the same tactics in 2012.
  15. So yeah, I'm going to stand by what I said orginally. Liber8's actions are justified. The Corps record everything, so there's no privacy. They withhold food to starving people to drive up food prices. There are no rights. It is a somewhat dystopian future. Oh and the corps have mind control technology. And the Police fire missiles at suspects, who are not doing anything wrong other than meeting.
  16. Takel, we're Americans aka the Good Guys, so we can't occupy a country. You silly bret you.
  17. This is funny, but the author should know April fools was a month ago. In all honesty I'd take this as seriously as I take the reports that Bigfoot was spotted in Vegas marrying Nixon and Elvis.
  18. Huge update out today. Have to download a 7780.22 MB update, wonder why it is so big.
  19. Being a few more episodes in I noticed that while the series has a basic premise of Grey and Grey morality, it has more of a Black and White morality. It is becoming fairly obvious you're supposed to root for the protector, and that he Liber8 freedom fighters are just a group of crazy sociopaths. Which blows. I really liked the Liber8s. Sure they were a bit excessive, but with the Corps running everything you have to be, since the only thing they understand is profit. Last thing, TVtropes will ruin your life.
  20. Chuck Norris was easy to beat.
  21. Yeah. They are extreme, but they had to be in 2077, with the Corps running the show.
  22. Watched like 5 minutes. Already rooting for the Liber8 Freedom Fighters. Freedom from corporate tyranny at any cost.
  23. No, but I beat Hell. Now I'm stuck fighting myself... Fun times. And now I'm fighting Chuck Norris. Also I found a horn that is 3x Lolipop production. Very Nice.
  24. Killed the Dragon. Used God potions and teleport scrolls. Drank the potion, hit dragon until it expired, telported back twice to reset counter, then drank another potion. Rinse and repeat.
