The Thing (2011)

For anyone who thoroughly enjoyed John Carpenter's The Thing circa 1982 as much as I did, this is the prequel set 3 days before the original. Unfortunately they incorporate CGI unlike Rob Bottin's phenomenal use of animatronics and SFX from the original. What say you?

The real original was awesome. Then they came out with the one that featured Kurt Russel and that was good too. This one is going to be fair. They have a woman as the hero and the only time that a woman has been able to pull off being the hero was in the Alien series.

Love the music from the film though.

My sentiments exactly. I have a lingering suspicion that they'll also leave a good chunk of the unexplained mystery out, such as in the 1982 film, who was infected first. Looks like Norris judging from the hair in the shadow, but one can't be sure.

Im definitely watching this! Not just because i loved the original, but because this one also got a bunch of Norwegian

actors in it, and one of the top Danish actors as well

When you guys say "the original" what movie are you talking about?

The original was made in 1951, the John Carpenter remake was made in 1982, and now the prequel to the remake is coming out in 2011.
