Firstly, have you tried updating the drivers and all that (sometimes they are not updated) and have you attempted to uninstall any of the random software that will no doubt have been dumped on your computer? Also, what're the specs?

Oh god haha.

How do you update the drivers?

There is fuckall for software except for panda security and steam. Even steam won't load up, error message keeps popping up, and I know fuck all about computers. Where would I find the specs haha.

The company told me to see if the memory was seated well, or do a drive fitness test from this site. I have a friend maybe coming over tonight to take a look for me, I will tell him what you said takel haha.

Sounds like it might be overheating. Was it an assembled or used system? You can take off the sides of your case and blow it out with compressed air and it helps a lot of overheating issues.

Beyond that, I'd look at to make sure the RAM is seated correctly. That is good advice. You may need to reformat, though. Sounds like something is wonky if it isn't a heat or RAM issue.

Follow these steps:

1)Exit Steam

2)Go to your steam directory (program files/steam)

3)Delete everything in that directory EXCEPT for steam.exe and the steamapps folder

4)Restart Steam

ALSO, it might be a good idea to take the side panels of your PC anyways, just to clean it out. Dust is the largest culprit for overheating, despite PC fans.

You could have a million fans, but they're useless if your vents are clogged with dust. I had a friend tape a piece of paper over her vents because she was tired of them blowing on her leg, computer RUINED, hahaha.

It's brand new never used, so no dust haha.

Like I got it running yesterday, took me forever to get steam to actually log me in. Then I started downloading DoD and RAGE, then it froze on me. I rebooted the computer, and now that error message comes up when I try to start steam. But with that all aside, I can't even open my start menu or Internet where it will start to say program is not responding. I try to do control alt delete and that won't even come up.

That's awesome!
