Hmm, not sure if I can say Wendy's is THE best fast food, but of the big chains, yes I would say I would rather go to Wendy's

Here is my hierarchy fast food burgers: Dick's Drive In > Five Guys > In-N-Out > Wendy's > Carl's > Jack in the Box > McD's > Sonic > Everything else > BK.

Any burger joint is better than a fast food chain but in Brooklyn we don't have stuff like dicks, in an out, jack in the box and Sonic so my perception is limited by my area. But I forgot about Five Guys it will kill you so good

In-N-Out is great, I got to go there when I was in Cali. My personal favorite is Harvey's, but I don't know if you can get them in the US. For small places, the best burger i've eaten, apart from the pub burgers i've had in England, was this hole in the wall place in LA, where you could get a custom burger (Mine was a pretzel dough bun, angus beef, cheddar cheese, fried egg, chipotle sauce, tomatoes and lettuce).

EDIT: Oh yeah, onion rings too.

This is the burger I got in a small pub in England, they called it the "Priory Burger". Completely obscene. Yes, there is two meat paddies and onion rings. You don't see the back bacon either on the picture. Nomnomnom.

That's what was sweet about this little place in LA, they were kind of fast food, though more like a snack bar type of fast food place. You got served pretty fast and it was delicious. But yeah, for mainstream fast food, look into Harvey's, it's pretty swell.
