Hello, I hear 1st MRB is a pretty legit realism organization. The website and FAQ seem pretty straight and I love weapon restrictions based on rank. I'm guessing there's some real marine influence behind that. I come from a far away land in a gaming community like-minded. I used to play DoD very regularly since the spring of '01. I was pretty young but spent a lot of time on realism units pre-source. Someone got me into Resistance and Liberation before any version was even out and I loved the radical break in favor of realism. I got out of DoD and into the army in '05 and got out in 2010. I almost never play DoD anymore but I have a server in RnL and I think this would be something right up 1MRB's lane. It has some radically different features that do a lot to add immersion and encourage teamwork.

Free mod, same engine, under 1000mb download. Something to spice up the the epic wait for HL3

A lot of these might leave your scratching your head but its something different and alters gameplay in a good way. Now when I see a crosshair in a game I gotta get used to it. :P

-NO HUD whatsoever

-NO crosshairs, the aim point of the weapon moves about the screen freely so it cannot simply be marked on your screen

-NO score. Several servers have installed plugins which track kills, many haven't. I won't because its a fundemental concept of the game. This promotes teamwork in a massive way by making it about the team.

NO death messages.

-3D Voice chat. Louder when closer to other players, friend or foe. ESSENTIAL for teamwork IMO and a prime reason I can't go back to DoD easily

-Savagely realistic weapons. You can drop a player with a single shot from a pistol with a little luck. There is a knockdown system in which players will even get back up if the wound is not fatal.

-Suppression and Morale. Incoming fire or friendlies nearby being hit will hurt your morale and increase your breathing and thus hamper your ability to hold your weapon steady when returning fire.

-Beautiful animations and maps that exactly resemble the same locations in Normandy.

-Realistic reloading. Mid clip garand reloading, you will only have to cock the weapon if a round is not in the chamber when reloading

So I'm offering to host some RnL fun nights to some DoD realism units individually. Hopefully even in a closed server separated from the derpiness of a lot of public players, designate some temporary admins, etc. We had a criken video on RnL about a year ago and have had a surge of probably tens of thousands of what I call gaming tourists since then, a lot of which didn't respect the players or community.

If you wanna scout the game out, add me on steam just make sure you have a clan tag or I won't know who you are. I'd be happy to show you around. Mind the trolls.

Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you for the time being. Maybe later down the road (Not guaranteed) things can change but for now the ban will stay in place. Enjoy the rest of your evening.
