So some of you guys know and some of you don't, but I'm going to be living and working in Africa specifically Zambia for the next few months from the 17th January. I've kinda put off posting about this for a while as I haven't been 100% that I was going to go.

This has been a dream of mine for many years, and I've had to get over some challenges to get to where I am today. As some of you know 2012 was a really tough for me with my grandfather getting hospitalised, and his slow but good recovery from a heart attack. I believe the time is right now, because I want to be able to make him proud of me for something.

Anyway, I wanted to make this post to thank you guys for being awesome in 2012, genuinely at certain points I don't know what Id of done without you guys seriously, (This even goes to the guys no longer in the unit), without the laughs, advice, fun and support you guys gave me I wouldn't of got through last year, and I would not have the courage to do what I'm doing. That said I'll definitely be back at some point in April.

If you wanna know anything about what i am doing in Zambia, just ask!

P.S Keep on being the best god damn realism unit in all of DODS.

P.S.S Keep hating on Rather till I get back, I mean look at him, he deserves it! :lol:

Oh don't worry, I've become an expert at hating on Rather.

Great opportunity, life experience, work experience, adventure, all great things that'll come from going on this trip. I know I've been teasing you about leaving but honestly I wish you the best of luck and I hope you stay safe and out of trouble.

Good on ya. I know people who've lived in California their whole lives and never seen the beach, but you're going clear overseas! I know that star Dodgers' pitcher Clayton Kershaw and his wife started a program in Zambia, maybe you'll meet that beast of a southpaw!

Well, congratulations dude! You've mentioned this before, and its really cool that it has all come together for you.

3rd Platoon are going to be a very sorry bunch indeed for a few months.

Anyway, stay safe, and I'm sure you'll have an excellent time and meet a lot of excellent people!

      MARINE CORPS ENLISTMENT OFFICE Camp Pendleton, CA   RECRUITMENT LETTER     Hello F. Flobbs   Thank you for taking interest in joining the 1st Marine Raider Battalion. There are a few things you should know before I give you a date for Basic Combat Training (BCT). Firstly, you are restricted to the weapon class of Rifleman for the duration of your time as a Recruit. Secondly, any questions you have about our unit, alternate times for your BCT, or just rules in general, you should contact your drill instructors GySgt. R. Fielding, 1stSgt. J. Candy, CWO. A. Pitteway, and 2ndLt. R.
