Did the not already do a rehash of Doom, called Doom3 if I'm not mistaken.

There was talks of a Doom4 back in like 2007/2008 but never heard anything more about it after that.

If you guys have the original DOOM wad. then you can play the Brutal Doom mod that has updated guns, enemies, weapons, animations and is extremely gory (hints the name). The mod is locate Here which contains a synopsis of what the mod is about and some videos/screenshot. Its a blast to play online with friends (yes it has multiple online modes) and just by yourself to travel through hell punching stuff in the face.
