So this was a real possibility, pre WW2 Americans apparently hated the UK, and actually wanted to "knock the Empire down a peg or two"

After analysing it, historians and military strategists from all 3 nations conclude that the US would quickly overrun most of Canada, except for Halifax, which would have let the British reinforce Canada, or so the Canadians thought. However the British would have let Canada be overrun and conquered to preserve its greater Empire, since neither navy was capable of defeating the other, but the British couldn't fight the US on land. Crazy how History could have turned out. I honestly prefer the current arrangement as Plan Red would have been senseless slaughter.
