Anyone have any stories on their favorite sports moment ever?

Weather you attended the game or you witnessed it on television, anyone have an all time great sports moment for you personally?

For me, easily this, just because of the roller coaster season and the fact I was there and watched this happen with my two friends who are Steeler fans.

I could think of a few dallas cowboy plays that just had me gasping for air....but the most memorable moment for me would have to be the day i graduated from the University of Manitoba.

On that day which was June 1st of 2011, i graduated and got my bachelors degree. On that same day i found myself along with my parents who flew up from california in a sea of hockey crazyness in downtown Winnipeg. They were staying at a hotel at The Forks in downtown and we walked over and witnessed the NHL officially announce that the jets were coming back. We all celebrated and after spending 5 years in Canada and growing to love hockey i always wanted Winnipeg to have a team and to get their team back. It came true that day and i never saw a city light up with such crazyness and excitment. Streets were closed down, people were running around downtown partying and i even joined in on playing a huge ass street hockey game in a giant crowd of thousands of people at the intersection of Portage and Main in downtown Winnipeg. It was like the city just came alive with nothing but hockey and booze! lol

It was a crazy inspiring day. Hands down the most memorable favorite sports moment i have ever been apart of. I will live and die a jets fan. I was in the video at 1:12 standing in the background watching them play and was in the crowd at 2:48.

I can't remember much of it, I was only 10 or so, but it was the early 90's and was a Bull's game in Chicago. Jordan was wiping the floor with (I think) the Celtics, and it was one of the first times I really bonded with my dad. I never got into sports, and have never had much in common with the old man, but that day taught me that despite those differences, we were a family. Since then, any time he's wanted my company to a game (lately it has been a lot of Hurricane hockey games), I've gone...not for the game itself, but because when we're there, I can somewhat identify with who he is, and he can identify with me as well.

Sports...bringing families closer : )

There are so many moments that make me a huge fan of all sports. There's Canada's 2002 & 2010 Olympic Gold, Mike Weir winning the 2003 Masters, Toronto Maple Leafs '93 playoff run, Blue Jays '92 World Series, and more...

But there's one sports moment that I'll never forget, the '93 Blue Jays' World Series win. Bottom of the ninth, 2 outs, Joe Carter is at the plate with 2 balls and 2 strikes. The pitch....THE SWING.....HOMERUN AND THE BLUE JAYS WIN IT! I'll never forget that amazing call by Tom Cheek when Carter hit that homerun, "Touch em all Joe, you'll never hit a bigger homerun in your life." I was 6 years old in my family's restaurant, it was packed with fans and my dad made me a homemade noise maker. Everyone was so happy and it was an incredible feeling watching your favorite team claim the biggest tittle in baseball as the World Champions! That's one memory I will never forget.

Game 6 of the 2003 Stanley Cup Playoffs Wild vs Avs 1st Round Robert Park nets his 2nd goal of the game to win in overtime and force a game 7.

Game 6 of the 2003 SCP Wild vs Canucks 2nd round the Wild destroy the Nucks to force a game 7.

1991 Game 6 of the World Series Kirby Puckett robs a potential game winning homerun and hit a walkoff to force a game 7.

Getting an NHL franchise back after losing the Stars.

It was 1995. In the Mariner's 19 year history, they had finished over .500 once before. And then 1995 happened. It began on August 24, 1995. The Mariners were one game under .500, and 11 1/2 games behind the Angels. They were even four games behind Texas in the Wild Card chase. The Mariners went on to finish the season 79-66, tied with the California Angels. There was a one-game playoff, with Randy Johnson vs. Mark Langston, who was a tremendous pitcher in his own right. The Mariner's won the one-game playoff with this line:

Notice 0 HR by Mariner's. RJ whipped out the Big Unit and slapped every Angel with it.

And then, the 5 game divisional playoff against the fucking Yankees. It came down to Game 5. The Mariner's had to struggle, as it was the beginning of the Yankee Dynasty. But that dynasty would have to wait one more year, for the Mariner's to trade Tino Martinez and Jeff Nelson to the Yankees in the off-season, because Edgar Martinez had a giant FUCK YOU for every Yankee fan in the world.

Always been a Giants fan. I remember when we lost Game 6 of the '02 World Series after leading 5-0. Probably the worst sports moment ever for me, personally at 8 years old. I worried that I'd never see my boys in orange and black make it back. I watched diligently, through good seasons and bad, and patience paid off. Twice.

My two best moments
