So for those of you that play 40k (table top version), I was thinking of making a Space Wolf army that totals up to 1000 points. After revamping the list for the past few days, this is what I came up with. Opinions are appreciated:

HQ:

Rune Priest

Runic Armor

Wolftooth necklace

Saga of Warrior Born

(Thunderclap & Jaws of the World Wolf)

Troops:

Grey Hunters x10

2x Melta

1x Wolf Standard

1x Drop Pod

Grey Hunters x10

2x Flamers

1x Wolf Standard

1x Drop Pod

Elite:

Wolf Guard x3

Arjac Rockfist

2x Terminator Armor

2x Thunder Hammer

2x Combi Melta

1x Drop Pod

Heavy Support:

Long Fangs Pack x5

4x Missle Launcher

SL - 1x Melta Bombs

Total: 991

I never played with or against Space Wolves, but won't you have a problem with the short range of your special weapons in your regular tac squads? Unless you want to focus on close combat (Which i'm told SW excel at). Also, if that is the case, did you think about Wulfen? I also would drop the melta bombs on your Heavies, they'll never be in range to use them, and any vehicle getting close to them against 4 missile launchers is pretty excellent.

Overall, you seem to have an excellent anti vehicle capability, but I'm more worried about your anti personnel capability. Maybe try to sneak a power weapon in there? Maybe a heavy bolter in your Long Fangs? Overall it seems sound for 1000 points.

The SW's are best at mid-range, ie Flamers, Melta's, etc. The best melee army in the game is Blood Angels, 2nd would be Khorne. I know this bc I play BA's and have rhomped Khorne armies to the dirt. My anti-personnel weapons are the flamer squad, frag missiles, and frag grenades that each unit carries. This is the list that I was suggested to go with after a few days of re-vampment. I will post pics of what I paint in the near future. In the mean time, here are some other works that I have done:

They can be a pain in the ass at times, but when you finish a really good looking army, they look incredible on the table and people marvel at your work. I have had offers to sell my Nurgle Fantasy Warriors in the past. I may take people up on that once they increase their offering price.

I play regular space marines since they cannibalized my army with the new inquisition codex (No more radical inquisitors, no more allies etc...) and I prefer to use them at mid range as well, but for me mid range is bolter range :P. The 5th edition Space Marine honor guard is simply ridiculous though. For close combat I have always enjoyed chaos though, I even fielded Abaddon the Despoiler once or twice.

I have always loved the tank-ness of Nurgle when it comes to Chaos Marines. Just have a horde of Plague Marines infecting the battlefield. Hahaha. :P Not to mention, with my wash technique, they are one of the easiest armies to paint (due to the quickness of it all).

I use and Air Brush on mine but i don't actually play the game, and don't play 40k I do the original Warhammer- I have the entire Undead Army and Vampyre Legion, Champion Zacharias The EverLiving, which is no longer able to be bought. retail that is.

I have all the big Name Counts I will take a picture and post some of my work- I don't play Just like the look of the characters and the artistry

Ya I have never done air brushing or had the $ to do it. I love the models and how they look when they are all painted up on the gaming board. The 1 thing that I can't stand is people that buy the models and just dont paint them, then play the game. It takes the look of the game away.

Some nice painting there guys. I haven't played any GW for years. Gorkamorka and Space Hulk were my favourites. Never got into the bigger games much. Maybe I'll dig out my models and take some pictures. I had some lovely painted models done for me by other people.
