Here's a nice music video with footage from a tank crew in the Ukrainian Civil War. The tank model is a T-64 BM, with reactive armor if I'm not mistaken.

Ya it's covered in ERA plates. They literally explode on impact with incoming shells to negate the damage that the shells would otherwise do.

Yes, I am a bit of a tankie, and I generally prefer Russian tanks due to their inclusion of ATGMs in their arsenal. Although it's a bit of a toss up for me between Leopards and well upgraded T-72s.

Ironically I work (or will work, when I attend arty school this fall) with howitzers instead. Oh well, this gives me a boner too:
